About GrangerHome

Christopher Granger specializes in truly unique high-end hand weaving drawing on the modern world around him as his inspiration.

Shaping his signature pieces in his evolving, expansive home studio, Christopher finds the home environment particularly conducive to his work ethic, as it’s both relaxing and stimulating. “I’ve never wanted to have a separate studio, I mean I hate driving so the Live/Work concept just works really great. Plus everyone knows that this is pretty much a 24/7 gig, “ he explains of his passion for the live/work concept.

Christopher’s art is available in a limited capacity because, as a working artist, he handcrafts everything that emerges from his studio. “I produce art, not mass market items,” he explains. “It’s essential that each piece of fabric retains the passion and energy synonymous with my work.” Christopher very much wants to establish the concept ‘limited edition’ into fashion, “In so many other areas of art, we have not only the one-off creations and mass market products, but also the limited edition. Potters, glass-makers, print-makers all produce limited edition or numbered serious. But in fashion it seems we have the couture one-off and the mass market, with not much in-between. I’m truly inspired by the small-batch designers and that’s what I want to do - create unique accessories that because they are produced in small quantities are more affordable but still limited enough to retain their unique value.”

At home, Christopher keeps busy with a continuing rehab project on the house he shares with his husband, Ben Granger, a radio advertising executive. Together, they’ve undertaken several development projects in their neighborhood, sharing a passion for fine design and landscaping. They share their home with a pair of lively parrots, two energetic dogs and tend to a backyard bee hive that’s home to no fewer than 90,000 honeybees.

The Folks Behind GrangerHome

Mike

Our all around Prince of All Trades. From dressing models and styling products to providing the most amazing service to our customers. If it's lost, Mike finds it; if it's broken, Mike gets it fixed - and that includes the designer. The poor man is constantly talking the high-strung designer off of a ledge, "It's okay Christopher, that really is the perfect claret red that you wanted yesterday, it hasn't morphed overnight into something horrid. That's it, good designer, pretty designer, pretty designer...."

And he does all of this as a passion in addition to his full time job as a Social Worker!

Ben

It turns out that the best way to sell things is to have a sales plan. Ben came into the studio one day and overheard a conversation, looked at the chaos on the desk and said, "You know, 'Do you want a scarf or not?' really isn't a helpful question for the customers?" It turns out Christopher really didn't know that. He knows it now, but everyone is still glad we have Ben making sure the right products find the right customers.

He weaves and he designs. He's happy and he wants you to be too.

Christopher, lost happily somewhere in Italy.

Props, Credits and Big Thanks

I wish I could say that each and every idea associated with GrangerHome is mine- ALL MINE! But that's so not true. Without the people on this page, GrangerHome would never have grown. To each and every one I am indebted.
(In no particular order)

Roxi Suger
Maven of fashion design, creator of ANGeLRoX and absolute expert in her field. Her passion, criticism and advice have kept me sane when I woke up one day and realized that I had to walk and talk like a fashion designer. I was privileged to be able to use many of her clothing designs for dressing the models when photographing my scarves. The GrangerHome brand is stronger for her input. Buy lots of her clothing. Lots.

Sammy Scott-Simpson
Marketing connoisseur, motivational genius and hand-holder. A new friend and an amazing source of energy and inspiration. I would not have had the courage (or the know-how) to show GrangerHome to the world without his guidance. Check out his blog, there's so much to learn there.

Randy Harris

Kathleen Johansen-Stagg
Sorceress of the written word and all around media, advertising and promotions diva! When I need to say it in print, it's usually Kathleen that translates for the rest of the world. Kathleen is also the Sovereign Ruler of the GrangerHome Fashionistas.

Ben Granger
Sales Manager, therapist, life-coach, photographer, cajoler, copy writer, cheerleader, proof-reader, editor, arm around the shoulder, my best friend, my husband. GrangerHome may be my creation, but Ben is the foundation it was built upon. The source of my courage, half of my soul and all of my heart. Ben, everything beautiful I've ever made is because you showed me the beauty there is in the world.
